Mathematics

 In mathematics the aims of the scheme are to build a deep culture of understanding, confidence and competence in Maths, a culture that will produce strong secure learning and real progress in the students that attend our school.

 Although the five year scheme of work is divided by Key Stage, progression is cyclical enabling students to re visit and embed prior knowledge while developing a deeper understanding of higher order mathematical skills. 

The mantra of White Rose Maths is the ‘Everyone Can Do Maths: Everyone Can’ a mantra that we the Maths department fully endorse.

We intend to shape all our students into assured, happy, resilient Mathematicians helping them to become independent reflective thinkers – not just in Maths, but across the whole curriculum.
