A fantastic day out at Warwick University was the reward for our ‘Brilliant Club’ students’ hard work this year. The Year 9 and Year 10 students in the group had worked together with Claire Kennan, a PhD student from Royal Holloway to explore the topic ‘Life in a Medieval Guild’.
Every single one of them reached the standard required to pass (Evie Hall with distinction) and so it was off to Warwick University for a great day out. Inspiring talks, Guided Tours, Lunch at ‘The Plaza’ and the chance to get to know real undergraduates were all part of this enjoyable day, which culminated in the ‘Graduation ceremony’.
Our students, accompanied by Mr Dawson (Pupil Premium Champion) were truly brilliant during this day and fully deserve their certificates of achievement as part of the Brilliant Club. Best of all, the students were really ‘buzzing’ with ideas on this trip and took the chance to really think about what the chance of going to University might mean for them, in the future.
