GCSE Students visit River and Rowing Museum
On Friday 2nd November Year 11 GCSE PE students visited the River and Rowing Museum in Henley, the home of world’s most prestigious regatta. The students explored the museum learning about the history and development of rowing focusing on exam topic material such as gender, politics and sponsorship. They then completed a practical workshop looking at the anatomy and physiology of a rower. The day finished at the Leander Rowing Club, the most successful rowing club in the world, boasting members such as Sir Steve Redgrave. Students got a real insight into the life of an elite athlete training for the Olympics.
