Year 12 student in World Power Boat Championships

Kayleigh Priestley, Year 12 student, took part in the World Power Boat Championships in Guernsey

Well done to Kayleigh Priestley who recently took part in the World Power Boat Championships in Guernsey. Kayleigh was the youngest competitor in the fleet taking on pilots with many more years racing experience.  The conditions during some of the races were extremely rough but with her skill and determination she finished all of the races in the series.  Something that few of the boats succeeded in doing. Over the course of the week Kayleigh grew in confidence and speed and by the last race she was lapping some of the other competitors.  In typical Kayleigh style not only did she race but she continued to raise money ( just under £1,000) for the Sick Children's Trust  in support of very poorly children and their families.

We wish Kayleigh all the best in her future racing and also continued success in her fund raising.
